COLORADO COMETS HOST PROFESSIONAL TEAM

On Friday, April 28 (7:00pm) the Comets will host the Utah Blitzz in a USL League match at Wembley Park Stadium. The Blitzz will be the first professional team to play an official match at Wembley Park since the Colorado Foxes played here in 1997. The Blitzz play in the D3 Pro League of the United Soccer Leagues.

The Comets opened their 2000 season campaign last weekend with victories over the Colorado Springs Ascent (1-0) and the Kansas City Brass (6-2). Kris Stumpf was named Premier Development League (PDL)Player of the Week as a result of his 2 goals against Kansas City. Chris Edwinson and Jake Brodsky were also named to the PDL Team of the Week.

The Comets signed Sean Adams from Ireland this week. Adams, recently played for Irish First Division Club Home Farm FC and arrived in Denver on Tuesday. He is expected to make his debut for the Comets on Friday (April 28) against the Utah Blitzz. The Comets also signed Danny Huber who played for the Comets during the last 2 seasons. Huber had previously played in the A League for the Colorado Foxes and Albuqueque Geckos.

The Comets have announced that Brad Vik will become the teams Goalkeeper Coach effective immediately. Vik played for the Comets during 1998 and 1999.
