COMETS GAIN REVENGE AGAINST BOULDER

FRI, MAY 19 (Wembley Park) - The Colorado Comets defeated Boulder Nova 1-0 in a hard fought contest at Wembley Park Stadium, and in doing so gained revenge for the 2-1 defeat they suffered on May 10. The match started fairly even with both teams creating chances. The Comets scored the only goal of the game midway through the first half when Brent "Zico" Ward quickly took a free kick from just outside the penalty area and caught the Nova keeper out of position. The second half began fairly even until Concha was sent off in the 67th minute for a 2nd yellow card offense. For the reminder of the game Nova launched attack after attack but were kept out by some solid Comets defending and some brilliant goalkeeping from Chris McClellan. The Comets were very relieved to hear the final whistle and secure the win. Best player for the Comets was McClellan while Eric Kaufman, Zico Ward and Chris Edwinson also played well. Comets lineup - McCellan, Butler, Kaufman, Fachini (Adams ), Ward (Pinto ), Diedrich, Edwinson, Monroe (Mazen Kayali - 55th min) Stumpf, Concha, Tabor (Huber ).
