For the opening stance of this game both teams appeared well matched and the game flowed from end to end without any real chances being created for either team. The Breeze were the first team to break the deadlock at the 14th minute. Brad Vik parried a point blank shot from a Breeze player but was unable to hold on to the rebound and the ball was scrambled into the goal. Six minutes later the Breeze increased their lead from a virtually identical play with another player scoring from close range after Vik had saved the first attempt. At the 26th minute of the first half a short corner to Kris Stumph was driven to the far post where Jeremy Ballenger finished from close range. For the remainder of the half there were several chances created at both ends of the field without any addition to the score. For most of the second half the Breeze settled back and allowed the Comets to amount attack after attack. Despite creating a number of good chances the Comets were unable to reduce the deficit and thereby recorded their second loss at home.
