DENVER (Wednesday, June 14, 2000) - The Colorado Rapids will once again celebrate Independence Day with a bang this year when they host the Chicago Fire at Mile High Stadium, followed by the best fireworks display in town. The game kicks off at 7:00 p.m., with the final July 4 fireworks show at Mile High Stadium to follow immediately.

Fans can begin the day at Elitch's (see below) and then come support the Rapids as they go to battle against the rival Fire. Last year more than 50,000 people packed Mile High Stadium and cheered the Rapids, and then were treated to Denver's hottest fireworks display after the game. This season, the Independence Day tradition continues as the Rapids host Chicago in the final Fourth of July celebration at Mile High Stadium. Immediately following the game, the attention turns to the skies for a fireworks show that has become a Fourth of July tradition in Denver.

RAPIDS AND ELITCH'S TEAM UP TO PROVIDE ALL-DAY PACKAGE FOR $22:

Fans can make Independence Day 2000 an all-day party with a full-day package offered by the Colorado Rapids and Elitch's. For only $22, fans get an all-day pass to Denver's greatest amusement park, and then a ticket to see the Rapids take on the Fire that night, followed by the Rapids' annual fireworks extravaganza.

This season, the Independence Day tradition continues as the red-hot Rapids look to continue their quest to remain one of the elite teams in MLS in 1999, as they host the Eastern Conference powerhouse Crew. Immediately following the game, the attention turns to the skies for a fireworks show that is quickly becoming a Fourth of July tradition in Denver.
