NEWS RELEASE

DENVER (Thursday, April 19, 2001) - The Colorado Rapids are proud to announce the latest addition to our broadcast team. Dave Dir (pronounced "Durr") and Amy Freeze will join Marc Stout for the Rapids game on Saturday against the LA Galaxy, which will air on FOX Sports Net (Rocky Mountain).
The kickoff is schedule for 8:00 p.m. (MT).
Dir is the former coach of the Dallas Burn and co-host of ESPN's "Extra Time" soccer show. Dir led the Burn to playoffs in four consecutive seasons. Before joining the Burn, Dir spent two years as MLS's Director of Player Development.
He is best known in Denver as the coach who helped the Colorado Foxes win the 1992 A-league championships. Rapids' assistant coach Lorne Donaldson served under Dir during his tenure with the Foxes. Dir will join the Rapids' play-by-play announcer Marc Stout to provide color commentary for the broadcast.
Dir is married to Cindy Morrow Dir of Dallas and has four dogs.
Freeze will work the sidelines, providing special insights into the game as it unfolds.
Freeze is a popular television meteorologist for Denver's WB2 morning show. In addition to her work as a weather reporter, Freeze has interview more than 300 celebrities and 20 Olympic medal winners. Her favorites include Harrison Ford, Danny Devito, Mary Lou Retton and Michelle Pfieffer. Freeze got her start in television news as a general-assignment reporter for the "East Metro Edition" newsmagazine in Portland, Ore.
Freeze also serves on the Colo. Governor's Council for Physical Fitness and was the recipient of the Gov. Lamm Fitness Award for her contribution to physical fitness in Colo. Freeze lives in Denver with her husband, Dr. Gary Arbuckle, and their son, Tyler, who will be three in July.
