FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY COACH SAYS RAPIDS GOT A "TOTAL PACKAGE" IN TYRONE MARSHALL

DENVER (Saturday, January 31, 1998) - Florida International University soccer coach Karl Kremser took some time Saturday afternoon to discuss Tyrone Marshall, the Colorado Rapids first-round draft pick whom Kremser coached for two years at FIU.

FIU MEN'S SOCCER COACH KARL KREMSER...

ON COLORADO RAPIDS FIRST-ROUND DRAFT PICK TYRONE MARSHALL:

"There are so many players that have the ability, but lack that fire, that inherent desire. That's not the case with Tyrone, he really has the total package. Easy game, tough game, I always got the same effort from Tyrone, and that was nothing less than his best."

ON MARSHALL'S STRENGTHS:

"I don't even know if finishing is his strong point, because he can do so much more. With his speed, and the way he can take a player on, he really can do a variety of things on the field."

ON MARSHALL PLAYING AT THE MLS LEVEL:

"While he scored a lot of goals in college, down the road he may be best suited to play outside midfielder in MLS. He is very good when he has the ball out wide, and knows how to get himself in good positions with and without the ball."

ON MARSHALL AS A PERSON:

"I never had a problem with Tyrone, he is a first-class kid, a model citizen who really represented our school well, and I'm sure that he will do the exact same with the Rapids."
