NEWS RELEASE

DENVER (Thursday, September 12, 2002) - The Colorado Rapids Community Care Foundation (CRCCF) will host the first annual "Meet and Greet Jersey Auction" on Friday, September 20 at INVESCO Field in conjunction with the club's 2002 regular season finale against the Kansas City Wizards. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the CRCCF.
One authentic jersey of each Rapids player will be auctioned off with all bids starting at $150.00. To participate in the auction, fans should make their way to the south end of the stadium, above section 133 on the concourse level. Bidding will be open throughout the first half and through the duration of halftime (approximately 7-8 p.m.). Winners of the auction will have an opportunity to meet the player whose jersey they have won following the game. All participants must be present to win and provide proof of admittance to the game.
The Colorado Rapids Community Care Foundation strives to promote and encourage underprivileged children to participate in activities such as soccer, as a means to build character, improve self-esteem and to develop interpersonal and leadership skills.
