Club Holds Playoff Fate in Their Hands; Budweiser Holds "Buck-a-Bud" Pre-game Party for Fans

Rapids Need Win or Tie to Keep MLS Cup Hopes Alive

The Colorado Rapids are back in a place they know all too well, a crucial 2nd playoff game. This time, the Rapids will face the Los Angeles Galaxy at INVESCO Field on Wednesday, October 9 at 7:30 p.m. in a battle to remain in the race for the 2002 MLS Cup Playoffs, presented by Budweiser. The Rapids loss to the Galaxy on Saturday night means that they will need to either win or tie Wednesday night in order to force a third game in the "first-to-five- points" semi-final playoff series. The Rapids are currently 0-3-0 in all-time playoff play against the Galaxy. This playoff scenario awards three points for a win and one point for a tie, with the first team to five points advancing to the next round, in this case the MLS Cup Final on October 20, 2002 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA. The winner of the Rapids vs. Galaxy series will face the winner of the New England Revolution vs. Columbus Crew series. In another tight battle for the cup, the Crew and Revolution came to a 0-0 draw Sunday night at Gillette Stadium, making their second game at Crew Stadium on Wednesday night a crucial one as well.

"Buck-A-Bud" Promotion Wednesday Night at INVESCO

Happy hour at INVESCO Field is the place to be on Wednesday night. A live band and $1 Budweisers will be available for fans to enjoy before the Rapids take on the Los Angeles Galaxy at 7:30 p.m. The Brethren Fast will be rockin' outside the South side of the stadium next to the Legends Mall Budweiser Tent from 5:30-7:30, so come down and party with other soccer fans before cheering the Rapids on in their semi-final playoff match. A ticket to the game is required for entrance and can be purchased through the Rapids Front Office at (303) 299-1599.

Tickets On Sale For Final 2002 Playoff Game at INVESCO Field

Tickets are now on sale for the Rapids last 2002 home game as well as season tickets for the upcoming 2003 season. Single-game ticket prices range from $14-35 with a $3 group discount available for blocks of 20 or more tickets. Tickets can be purchased through the Rapids front office at (303) 299-1599.

Post Game Party at The Celtic Tavern

The Colorado Rapids invite all fans to come down and celebrate with the players and front office staff at the Celtic Tavern immediately following Wednesday night's playoff game against the Los Angeles Galaxy. In the tradition of the regular season post-game parties, the Rapids would like to continue to remain close to their fans during the playoffs, and look forward to seeing everyone there.
