DENVER (Friday, November 8, 2002) Crusader Entertainment, in conjunction with the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer, will be holding tryouts in an effort to cast characters for an upcoming movie based on Geoffrey Douglas' novel Game of Their Lives, at the Amaya Soccer Center in Westminster, Colorado on Friday, November 15, 2002 at 9:00 a.m.
Game of Their Lives will bring to film the story of the 1950 U.S. National Team of amateur and semi-pro players that shocked the world with an amazing upset victory over heavily-favored England in the World Cup.
Director David Anspaugh and screenwriter Angelo Pizzo, who previously worked together on popular movies Hoosiers and Rudy, are teaming up with Crusader Entertainment technical consultant and U.S. National Team all-time leading scorer Eric Wynalda for local auditions.
Registration for tryouts must first be made by calling 1-888-507-GAME. Participants must be male soccer players between the ages of 18-30. Those determined by the film's staff to have sufficient soccer skills will be asked to audition for speaking roles at a later date.
