COLORADO RAPIDS SINGLE-GAME TICKETS TO GO ON SALE TUESDAY

DENVER (Friday, February 27, 1998) - Single-game tickets for the Colorado Rapids' defense of their 1997 Western Conference title will go on sale Tuesday, March 3. Tickets will be available through all TicketMaster outlets and by phone from the Rapids ticket hotline at (303) 299-1599 or (800) 844-7777.

Among available games are the April 4 home opener against Colorado native Robin Fraser, Cobi Jones and the Los Angeles Galaxy and the July 4th fireworks extravaganza, which drew 36,252 fans last year. Colorado faces U.S. National teamers Alexi Lalas, Tony Meola, Tab Ramos and the rest of the MetroStars on Independence Day.

But many Rapids fans already have Thursday, June 25, marked on their calendars, as this is the date of the Mile High rematch between Colorado and D.C. United, who defeated the Rapids 2-1 at R.F.K. Stadium in last year's MLS Cup.

After seeing an attendance increase of nearly 18% in the team's second year , the Rapids already surpassed their entire 1997 season-ticket total in December, four months before the April 4 home opener. Season tickets continue to be a hot item, as sales are currently 50% over the total number for all of 1997.

Single-game prices are $12, $15, $18 and $20. A very limited amount of $7 tickets will be available as game-day walkup tickets, only. For groups of twenty or more, prices are $9, $12, $15 and $20.
