COLORADO RAPIDS REACH MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH KKFN FOR CARRIAGE OF ALL HOME GAMES

DENVER (Monday, March 2,1998) - The Colorado Rapids and KKFN 950-AM have reached a two-vear agreement where all Rapids home games will be carried on "The Fan" beginning with the 1998 Major League Soccer season.

The deal calls for the carriage of all 16 regular-season home games. as well as the option to expand the coverage to road, exhibition and playoff games.

Rapids general manager Dan Counce said the multi-year deal signifies a great deal for the third-year franchise.

"Our on-going goal is to become more and more in the minds of the Colorado sports fan, and having our games aired on 'The Fan' is a great step for us towards exactly that. We are thrilled with our support from the Colorado soccer community, but this gives a chance to expand our audience and continue to be a player in the great professional sports market in Colorado," said Counce.

The Colorado Rapids and Major League Soccer are entering their third year in existence. The Rapids, who play in the Western Conference of the twelve-team league, won the 1997 Westem Conference Championship and enjoyed an 18% increase in attendance over year one.
