OTHER SHOE DROPS : RAPIDS TO INTRODUCE SECOND MAJOR INTERNATIONAL SIGNING WEDNESDAY (YES, IN PERSON)

Allocation Of Established Goal-Scorer To Be Announced; Brazilian Midfielder Marquinho Also Will Be On Hand

DENVER (Thursday, March 12, 1998) - The Colorado Rapids will introduce their second major international signing in as many weeks on Wednesday, March 18, at 11:00 a.m.at the Rapids' downtown offices.

After Rapids coach Glenn "Mooch" Myernick first hinted at the signing of a proven goal scorer at the Rapids' pre-season media luncheon, and then again at the announcement of the allocation of Marquinho, Colorado will introduce the player on Wednesday.

"With this player and Marquinho, we have now dramatically improved the talent level of this team in a two-week period of time," said Myernick.

Also on hand will be the Rapids first international signing of 1998, Brazilian midfielder Marquinho, who was unable to attend his own announcement due to a work visa delay. Joining the new Rapids midfielder will be general manager Dan Counce, coach Myernick, and assistant coach Rene Miramontes.
