NEWS RELEASE

COMMERCE CITY (Tuesday, April 21, 1998) -- The Colorado Rapids defeated the amateur Colorado Comets, 3-2, at the Mile High Greyhound Park Tuesday night.
Gustavo Degadillo, a Rapids' non-roster invitee, scored the game-winning goal in the 75th minute. Wolde Harris scored his third goal in as many games when he converted on a Comets' turnover. Colorado College alumni Andre Nunley opened the scoring in the 29th minute on a 35-yard rocket set up by Marquinho.
Comet John Molet scored the first goal of the game in the15th minute on a cross from Mark Perdew. Maher Kayali rounded out the scoring for the Comets with an unassisted rebound goal in the 41st minute.
The Comets, who will begin their first season in the Premier Developmental Soccer League, open their season at Mile High Greyhound Park on May 3, against Oklahoma City.
The Rapids return to Major League Soccer action on Saturday, as they host the expansion Chicago Fire at Mile High Stadium at 7 p.m.
