COLORADO RAPIDS TO HOLD AUTHENTIC TY BEANIE BABY GIVEAWAY AT MAY 22 GAME

DENVER (Wednesday, May 5, 1999) - The Colorado Rapids will host the "Colorado Rapids Beanie Baby Giveaway" on Saturday, May 22, as the Rapids host the NY/NJ MetroStars at 7:00 p.m. (MT) at Mile High Stadium. The Rapids have purchased 8,000 authentic TY Beanie Babies to be given away to the first 8,000 kids ages 16 and under in attendance on May 22.

In addition, the Rapids will give away twelve "collectible" Beanie Babies to twelve lucky fans of all ages. These twelve Beanie Babies will be given out through a random drawing at the stadium.

Of the 8,000 Beanie Babies that will be given away, 41 of the 46 different types of beanies are "retired."

Here's how it works: One (1) Beanie Baby will be given out to each youth upon entry to Mile High Stadium. Beanie Babies will be placed in bags, and fans get the luck of the draw as far as which Beanie Baby they receive upon entry. Fans will not get to select which Beanie Baby they receive upon entry. No exchanges. No refunds.
