NEWS RELEASE

DENVER (Tuesday, June 2, 1998) -- The Colorado Rapids will travel to Colorado Springs to face the Pikes Peak Stampede, a member of the USISL Premier Development Soccer League, on Wednesday, June 3, at 7:00 p.m.
Canadian National Team player Jason Bent, who has been training with the Rapids, is scheduled to play for Colorado on Wednesday. Rapids coach Glenn "Mooch" Myernick said that a decision about the future of Bent with the Rapids will be determined following the exhibition match.
With the 2-1 win over Kansas City Sunday, the Rapids improved to 5-8 and 11 points. The Stampede, coached by Ken White, enters Wednesday's game 4-5 overall in PDSL play.
The game will be held at Stampede Stadium, which is located at the intersection of Barnes and Powers, next to Sky Sox Stadium, in Colorado Springs. For ticket information, please contact the Stampede at 719-444-8464.
The Rapids will return to Major League Soccer action against the San Jose Clash on Saturday, June 6, at 7:00 p.m., as they look to avenge the May 9 home loss. Immediately following the game, the Rapids will host the Village People for a live concert.
