NEWS RELEASE

DENVER (Tuesday, November 24, 1998) - The Colorado Rapids and KMXA 1090-AM have reached an agreement where KMXA will expand its broadcast package from 16 to 32 games in 1999, meaning every Colorado Rapids regular-season game will be aired in Spanish for the first time.
The deal calls for the carriage of all 32 regular-season games, as well as options on exhibition and playoff matches.
KMXA carried every home game (16 regular-season games and one playoff game) in both 1997 and 1998.
Rapids general manager Dan Counce said the expansion of the current package with KMXA continues the pattern of growth for the team as it enters its fourth season.
"While we were very pleased with our broadcast schedule last season, we are thrilled to now be able to offer every single game on KMXA in 1999. We think it is a natural progression for KMXA and the Rapids to expand our relationship and offer the entire season over the air," said Counce.
The Colorado Rapids and Major League Soccer are entering their fourth year in existence. A member of the Western Conference of the twelve-team league, Colorado plays its home games at Mile High Stadium in Denver. The regular season opens in late March and runs through the league championship game, MLS Cup, which is scheduled for November 14, 1999, at Foxboro Stadium in Massachusetts.
