Prior to the USISL, in 1986, the Colorado Comets won the US/Mitre National Indoor Championships, under Head Coach, Kelvin Norman.
In 1998, Wembley USA, the large multi-million dollar organization, decided to give back to to Colorado, by establishing a local team made up of Colorado players, coach, and staff. They hired Marc Francis, an original member of the Colorado Comets, to be their GM and Head Coach.
The Colorado Comets joined the USISL's PDSL(Premier Development Soccer League), and will be the Third Generation Team of the organization.
Mile High Greyhound Park located in Commerce City, a suburb of Denver, is the best facility in Colorado. Its' soccer field is great, and its' stands can accomodate almost 9000 spectators. With fully equiped locker rooms, numerous concessions, open stands, glass enclosed stands, restaurants, event center, huge parking lots, press box, and much more, Wembley USA's Mile High Greyhound Park is a dream come true for the Colorado Comets.
General Manager and Head Coach, Marc Francis, a graduate of Regis University, hails from Australia, is married to Gina, and has two children: Marc (3) and Connor (2).
Francis has selected Edward Eid as the team's Director of Communications. Eid's responsability is media and league communications, as well as continuing to run the Colorado Comets Alumni Association.
Latest news is that Edward Eid, been appointed by the USISL to the PDSL Executive Committee.
