RAPIDS OPEN SECOND HALF OF PRE-SEASON SCHEDULE TOMORROW IN PORTUGAL

DEFENDER DAVID VAUDREUIL SENT HOME WITH CALF INJURY

DENVER (Monday, February 28, 2000) - The Colorado Rapids open the second half of their 2000 pre-season schedule tomorrow when they face Vittoria Setubal in Portugal. The Rapids will play five games against teams in Portugal over the next two weeks, before finishing the pre-season schedule with a game against the Miami Fusion in Memphis, Tenn., on Saturday, March 11. Following are upcoming key dates:

INJURY NEWS: VAUDREUIL OUT; BRAVO AND BENT RETURN:

Rapids starting defender David Vaudreuil returned home today after straining his right calf muscle in training in Portugal. Vaudreuil underwent an MRI in Denver this afternoon, the results of which will be known Tuesday. In addition, rookie and Littleton native Wes Hart returned to Denver to rest, as he is suffering from tendinitis in his right knee. The injury-bitten Rapids did, however, receive some good news as forward Paul Bravo and defender Jason Bent both joined the team in Portugal.
