NEWS RELEASE

DENVER (Wednesday, April 5, 2000) - The Colorado Rapids today placed defender Tahj Jakins on waivers. With the move, the Rapids roster is currently at the league-mandated size of 20 players, not including Project-40 player Seth Trembly, who does not count against the roster.
Jakins was the first player drafted overall in the 1997 Major League Soccer college draft. He played in 61 games for Colorado since that season, including one appearance in 2000, a 57-minute stint off the bench on March 25.
The Rapids (1-2-0, 3 points) host their home opener on Saturday night at Mile High Stadium against the Tampa Bay Mutiny at 7:00 p.m. (MT).
