MIDFIELDER SETH TREMBLY TO MISS SATURDAY'S GAME... TO ATTEND HIS SENIOR PROM

18-Year-Old Arapahoe High School Student To Miss Saturday's Game Against Miami Fusion

DENVER (Friday, May 12, 2000) - Colorado Rapids midfielder Seth Trembly will miss Saturday's MLS game against the Miami Fusion at Mile High Stadium to attend his senior prom. Trembly, 18, has spent this spring finishing his final term at Arapahoe High School while also playing for the Colorado Rapids.

Rapids coach Glenn "Mooch" Myernick gave Trembly permission to miss the game prior to the beginning of the season. But according to Myernick, it was done with a catch.

"We told Seth that he had to bring his date by the locker room to have prom pictures taken before the game," said Myernick. "We offered them a seat on the end of the bench and a nice candlelight dinner at half time, but apparently they opted to make other plans."

Trembly joined the Rapids this season through Major League Soccer's Project-40 developmental program, and has appeared in three games for the Rapids. At 17 years of age when he joined the team, Trembly is the youngest player ever to play for the Rapids.

"He'll play a lifetime of soccer games, but there's only one senior prom," said Myernick. "But with all of our injuries as of late, I just hope when his date pins on his boutonniere, she doesn't stick him with it and he misses two weeks due to infection."
