NEWS RELEASE

DENVER (Wednesday, June 21, 2000) - The Colorado Rapids Community Care Foundation and the Bonfils Blood Center will team to host a blood drive this Saturday at Mile High Stadium prior to the Colorado Rapids game against the NY/NJ MetroStars.
The blood drive begins at 10:00 a.m., and every one who donates blood will receive a voucher good for a ticket to any Colorado Rapids game in July, August or September.
The blood drive will take place in the parking lot at Mile High Stadium, next to the Colorado Rapids "Fun Zone" interactive, soccer theme park, located outside of Gate 1. Bonfils will provide energy-replacing snacks to donors.
The Colorado Rapids will host the NY/NJ MetroStars on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
The Colorado Rapids this year formed the "Colorado Rapids Community Care Foundation," a not-for-profit, charitable organization serving as the charitable arm of the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer.
The Colorado Rapids Community Care Foundation is a 501©(3) not-for-profit created out of the Colorado Rapids' desire to further the organization's charitable presence throughout the state.
The foundation strives to promote and encourage underprivileged children to participate in activities, such as soccer, as a means to build character, improve self- esteem and to develop interpersonal and leadership skills.
