COLORADO RAPIDS DISMISS ASSISTANT COACH MIRAMONTES AND GOALKEEPING COACH GONZALEZ

New Coaching Staff Expected To Be Named Early Next Week

DENVER (Friday, January 26, 2000) - The Colorado Rapids today announced the dismissal of assistant coach Rene Miramontes and goalkeeping coach Daniel Gonzalez.

Miramontes helped guide the Rapids to a 63-61-4 mark in four seasons.

"We are grateful to Rene for his contribution in building the team and we wish him the best for the future," said general manager Dan Counce.

The team also announced the dismissal of goalkeeping coach Daniel Gonzalez. Gonzalez served the Rapids for two seasons in a part-time capacity.

The Rapids will make several announcements regarding the new coaching staff beginning early next week.
