COLORADO RAPIDS COMMUNITY CARE FOUNDATION MAKES INAUGURAL GRANT

CRCCF Donates $15,000 To DENVER SCORES As Part Of Inaugural Grant

DENVER (Wednesday, March 21, 2001) - The Colorado Rapids today announced that its Community Care Foundation will award its inaugural grant of $15,000 to the local, after-school, community organization, DENVER SCORES.

"We are very excited to name DENVER SCORES as the first organization ever to benefit from a grant from the Colorado Rapids Foundation," stated Rapids General Manager Dan Counce. "The Rapids Foundation strives to support recreational and educational programs throughout Colorado for children in need, and we congratulate DENVER SCORES for their work in providing soccer and reading opportunities for children in Denver Public Schools."

DENVER SCORES is a recreationally-linked educational program for public school students that serves nearly 200 public school students by providing an after-school, soccer and creative writing program. By partnering children with their peers, coaches, teachers, and neighborhoods, the program allows students to explore their athletic and academic talents.

The Colorado Rapids Community Care Foundation strives to lead the way among Colorado sports teams by improving the lives of local residents, and by encouraging the community to work with the Rapids in fulfilling its mission statement of "Improving our Community, One Goal at a Time."
