RAPIDS HIT THE ROAD TO TAKE ON THE WHOLE GALAXY;
BROWN RECEIVES SECOND NATIONAL TEAM CALL-UP

RAPIDS TRAVEL TO LOS ANGELES TO TAKE ON THE GALAXY AT THE ROSE BOWL:

The Colorado Rapids, coming off a come-from-behind draw with the MetroStars in the season home opener, return to the road to take on the Los Angles Galaxy at Pasadena's Rose Bowl. Kickoff is slated for 8:00 p.m. (MT) and will be carried regionally on Fox Sports Net - Rocky Mountain.

The Rapids (0-1-1) will face a Galaxy squad that has lost their first two games by one goal. The Rapids face the daunting task of turning around the team's struggles in the hostile confines of the Rose Bowl, where the team is 1-9 against the Galaxy. The team's only win came in a shoot-out win on October 5, 1996.

BROWN OUT IN ST. LOUIS (NOT POWER SHORTAGE) WITH U.S. MEN'S NATIONAL TEAM:

Rapids' goalkeeper Adin Brown, Monday, received his second call-up to the U.S. National Team and is traveling to St. Louis to join 28 other players in preparation for the team's World Cup qualifying showdown with Costa Rica on Wednesday, April 25 in Kansas City.

"It's a great honor to be selected," said Brown. "Hopefully, I can go in, turn some heads and make a good impression. It's always been a personal goal to at least train, and possibly, play with the National Team."

Brown, 22, is the only player from the Rapids represented on a 29-player camp that includes 20 players from Major League Soccer and 9 players currently playing professionally in Europe. The camp will be pared down to approximately 20 players prior to the team's arrival in Kansas City on April 22 for their final days of preparation before the qualifier.

BALBOA'S FIRST GOAL OF THE 2001 SEASON AND 20th CAREER GOAL IS JUST THE BEGINNING :

Balboa's goal on Saturday night was his first of the 2001 season and the 20th of his six-season career in the MLS. Hopefully, it marks the start of a more offensive role for Balboa who is always a threat both in the air and on the ground.

"I was supposed to play for 45 minutes. At halftime, Tim (Hankinson) looked at me and I said, 'I'm good - 10 more minutes.' Ten minutes came along, and I saw someone warming up. The next thing I know it's 70 minutes. After I scored the goal, there was no way I was coming out - no way!"

In 1996, his first year with the Rapids, Balboa had his best offensive season when he recorded seven goals and two assists for 16 points, finishing third in scoring for Colorado and 26th in MLS despite missing 15 games.

RAPIDS OFFICIAL AWAY GAME VIEWING PARTY TO TAKE PLACE ON THE MALL:

The Colorado Rapids will host the second official away-game viewing party on Saturday, April 21 at 8:00 p.m. (MT) at Chili's downtown on Denver's 16th Street Mall. The restaurant is located at 951 16th Street and the telephone number is 720.904.8822.

Come join Rapids fans and front office staff as the Rapids take on the Galaxy in the first match-up between the two teams.
