DENVER (Monday, October 8, 2001) - On Friday, October 5, the Colorado Rapids hosted the inaugural 2001 Field Development Seminar alongside 45 representatives from companies, foundations and soccer clubs across the state at Denver's historic Navarre Building.
The event, held from 7:00-9 p.m., focused on the methods to be utilized by Colorado's passionate soccer leaders for furthering the field development of youth and amateur soccer fields statewide through various grants and resources that are available.
As Colorado's Major League Soccer representative, the Rapids are committed to developing the sport across the state by reaching out to leaders and "giving back to the game."
Among those in attendance were representatives from twenty separate entities, each possessing the common goal of increasing the game's popularity and visibility in the state of Colorado.
Organizations in attendance included: Bootlegger Soccer Club, Boulder County Force Soccer Club, Brockman Engineering, Broomfield Soccer, Canon City Youth Soccer Association, Colorado Rapids, Colorado Rapids Community Care Foundation (CRCCF), Colorado Storm Soccer, Denver Soccer, Douglas County Soccer, Fort Collins Soccer, Great Outdoors Colorado, International Sports, Mountain Soccer, Pride Soccer, Riverside Soccer, Rush Soccer, Skyline Soccer, Trebol Soccer and the United States Soccer Foundation.
