RAPIDS HOST ANNUAL "KICKS FOR KIDS" HALLOWEEN PARTY AT DENVER ZOO

Players and staff host party to benefit Denver-area underprivileged kids

DENVER (Monday, October 22, 2001) - On Thursday, October 25, the Colorado Rapids will host their annual "Kicks for Kids" Halloween party, held this year at the Denver Zoo from 2-6 p.m.

The party will feature the entire Rapids organization - including players and staff - along with approximately 200 underprivileged kids from special-needs schools and organizations around the Denver area. Prizes will be given out, along with free food and drinks for all party-goers. Also featured will be a costume contest for the kids and the Rapids soccer celebration inflatables, as seen at every Rapids home game. In addition, the Rapids will be available for pictures and autographs.

"Kicks for Kids" is a program that is designed to benefit underprivileged children through the integration of soccer and corporate donations. Each donation that the Rapids receive helps to send these children to soccer games, holiday parties, and more.

Admittance is free, courtesy of the Rapids, for the following program beneficiaries: Emily Griffiths Center, Emerson Street School, Atlantis Community, James Beckwourth Education Center, Developmental Disabilities Center, Colorado I Have a Dream Foundation, Barrett Elementary School, Glendale Recreation Center and The Bridge Project.

Pictures of the party can be seen on the Rapids' website starting the week of October 29. For more information on the "Kicks for Kids" program, please contact Kieran Cain at 303.299.1598.
