DENVER (Thursday, June 13, 2002) - On March 29 the players of the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer made a visit to The Children's Hospital in Denver. During the interaction between the players and the children, Rapids Captain John Spencer suggested that the children visit the Rapids at their venue upon release from the hospital.

Two and a half months later, many of those children have been released and they have arranged a date with the Rapids' players. This Friday, the children will arrive at training and watch the Rapids practice, which will be followed by lunch for the players, the children, and their families.

This is an excellent photo opportunity and a chance to see the Rapids give back to the community as they interact with the children and their families.

Fourth of July Fireworks Still On at INVESCO

As you may be aware, the Governor of Colorado has announced a ban on fireworks in Colorado during the current drought emergency. Please be advised that this ban does not apply to professional shows. The Colorado Rapids annual fireworks extravaganza at INVESCO Field at Mile High falls into this category, which we have confirmed with the City/County of Denver and State of Colorado. This means that our display following the July 4 game against Chicago will go on as planned. For further information, please call the Rapids at 303-299-1599.
