COLORADO RAPIDS PRESENT "RUN THE RAPIDS" RACE/WALK, SATURDAY JULY 27 BEFORE RAPIDS VS. BURN AT INVESCO FIELD

Second Annual Race Kicks Off at 5 p.m., Covers 2.7 Miles & Ends at INVESCO Field

DENVER (Tuesday, July 23, 2002) - The Colorado Rapids Community Care Foundation (CRCCF) is set to host its second annual "Run The Rapids" Race/Walk this Saturday, July 27 at 5 p.m., preceding the season's third meeting between the Rapids and the Dallas Burn at 7 p.m. at INVESCO Field. The Race, which covers 2.7 miles and concludes just outside of INVESCO Field, is a second-year event established and run by the CRCCF to bring individuals together to celebrate running and soccer and to support the Foundation, Colorado's 501c(3) charity arm.

All racers will run through INVESCO Field at Mile High Stadium, with the finish and start line just outside of the stadium. Participants will receive a quality race T-shirt, a "goodie bag", complimentary water along the course, a beverage in the post-race celebration area and a ticket to the Colorado Rapids vs. Dallas Burn soccer game beginning at 7 p.m.

Day of race registration will begin at 4:00 p.m. just south of INVESCO Field at Mile High. There will be an awards presentation on the field at 6:45 p.m. for the overall winners in the men's and women's divisions. Age category winners will also be posted and available for pick up at the AT&T parking lot that evening.

All racers and family and friends will be seated in a reserved section for the game. Tickets are available for friends and family for $14.00. Pre-race prices are $20.00 for seniors and children 12-and-under and $25.00 for adults (age 13-and-over), while day-of-race admissions increase $5.00 in the respective age group ($25, $30).
