RAPIDS HOST SECOND ANNUAL "KICKS FOR KIDS" HALLOWEEN PARTY AT DENVER ZOO's 'BOO AT THE ZOO'

Players and Staff Host Party to Benefit Denver-Area Underprivileged Kids

DENVER (Monday, October 21, 2002) - On Sunday, October 27, the Colorado Rapids will host their annual "Kicks for Kids" Halloween party, held again this year at the Denver Zoo from 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The party will feature the entire Rapids organization - including players and staff - along with approximately 250 underprivileged kids from special-needs schools and organizations around the Denver area. Prizes will be given out, along with free food, drinks and special trick-or-treat containers for all party-goers. Also featured will be the Rapids soccer celebration inflatables, as seen at Soccer Celebration prior to every Rapids game at INVESCO Field. In addition, Rapids players and coaches will be available for pictures and autographs.

Beginning at 10:30 a.m., invitees should present their orange invitations at the Rapids tent outside the Zoo entrance; check-in will be followed by an official introduction of all Rapids players and coaches. Complimentary food, beverage and goodies will be available for the children and tickets for 'Boo at the Zoo' admittance will be handed out around 11:00 a.m.

"Kicks for Kids", presented by Dairy Queen, is a program that is designed to benefit underprivileged children through the integration of soccer and corporate donations. Each donation that the Rapids receive helps to send these children to soccer games, holiday parties, and more.

Admittance to the Rapids "Kicks for Kids" Halloween Party is free for invited kids who were a part of the program this year. The 'Boo at the Zoo' will feature 15 different candy stations, entry to all zoo exhibits, face painting, magic shows and more.

Generous support from Dairy Queen and an additional 60 organizations made the Rapids' "Kicks for Kids" program a success in 2002 and helped to make this special day possible.
