Rapids To Kick-Off "Rapids Week" on April 5th

Team to Host Community-wide Events Starting April 5th and Leading to the Team's Home Opener on April 12th

DENVER, CO (04-03-03)- The Colorado Rapids organization announced today the team's first annual "Rapids Week", which will run from April 5th through April 12th. A variety of community events will take place in celebration of the Rapids' 2003 MLS season opener at INVESCO Field at Mile High on Saturday, April 12th.

Rapids Week will kick off on the evening of April 5th with a DUSK TO DAWN 4 vs. 4 soccer tournament at INVESCO Field at Mile High. This sold-out community wide competition will feature over 100 local teams and will begin at 8:00 PM Saturday evening and will last until dawn the next day. The DiamondVision in the stadium will be featuring games from the 2002 World Cup Korea/Japan.

On April 6th, the public will have the opportunity to meet the 2003 Rapids players from 2-4 PM at INVESCO Field at Mile High at the 8th Annual "Meet the Rapids Day". New and returning players and coaches will be available for pictures and autographs.

Monday, April 7th the public is invited to compete against the team in skee ball and arcade games at the "Rapids Challenge". This competition will be hosted by Dave & Buster's in Westminster and will begin at 5PM.

On Tuesday, April 8th, media members are welcome to join the Colorado Rapids for lunch hosted by Dave and Buster's in Westminster. Players and coaches will be available for interviews at the luncheon. Later in the evening, Colorado Rapids players will host a 2-hour (4:30 PM - 6:30 PM) youth soccer clinic at the Westminster Training Center for children ages 5-15.

Wednesday afternoon, the Black and Blue will flood the streets at the Denver Pavilions from 11AM-2PM with the "Rapids Pep-Rally". This Pep-Rally will feature music, inflatable games, free giveaways, and contests. Rapids players will be signing autographs and tickets will be on sale.

On Thursday, April 10th from 1PM-3PM, Rapids players and Rapidman will make an appearance at the Children's Hospital in Denver to visit patients, sign autographs, take photos and read books to kids. Starting at 6PM, the public can also join the Colorado Rapids and party hard during the Rapids Pub Crawl that will run throughout dowtown Denver. This event will be presented by Budweiser.

Friday night, join the Colorado Rapids at Caldonia's BBQ for Happy Hour beginning at 5:00PM, at the "Rapids Friday Afternoon Club".

The Colorado Rapids open their 2003 season at home against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday April 12th, at 7:00 p.m. Exciting new international additions Gilles Grimandi and Zizi Roberts join Rapids veterans Pablo Mastroeni, Chris Henderson, John Spencer and Mark Chung as the Rapids begin their quest for MLS Cup 2003. Westminister, will start at 5PM.
*	Tuesday, April 8th
		-Media Luncheon hosted by Dave & Busters in Westminister
begins at 11AM.
		-'RAPIDS KICK OFF CLINIC' 2-hour youth soccer clinic starts
at 4:30PM at the Westminister Training Center.
*	Wednesday, April 9th
		-Colorado Rapids downtown Pep Rally will take place at the
Denver Pavilions from 11AM-2PM.
*	Thursday, April 10th

Rapid man from 1-3PM.
