COLORADO RAPIDS HOST "MEET THE TEAM" PARTY SATURDAY

Public Invited to Mile High Stadium Send-Off Party,
March 9, 10 a.m.

DENVER (March 7,1996) -- The Colorado Rapids, which opened training camp this week in Denver, will host a "Meet the Team" Party for all of Colorado this Saturday (10 a.m.) at Mile High Stadium.

Major League Soccer Commissioner Doug Logan, Coach Bob Houghton and the entire Rapids team, including U.S. National Team stars Roy Wegerle, Dominic Kinnear and Jean Harbor and South African phenom Shaun Bartlett, will be on hand to meet with fans, sign autographs and do some interactive skills tests with children and fans. The event starts at 10 a.m. and, will last until 12 noon, when the team will head to San Diego for a two-week long training camp with four other MLS teams.

The Rapids return on March 24 to resume training at their official training site, Westminster City Park. The team opens on the road in Kansas City on April 13, and then at home on April 21 to host the Dallas Burn.
