RAPIDS MAY FACE BEGINNING OF THREE-GAME ROAD TRIP WITHOUT ANDERS LIMPAR

Swedish Midfielder's Injured Calf Muscle May Sideline Him In New England

DENVER (Tuesday, April 27, 1999) - Colorado Rapids midfielder Anders Limpar did not practice again on Tuesday and his strained left calf muscle may keep him out of Saturday's game against the New England Revolution at Foxboro Stadium (5:30 p.m. MT, Fox Sports Rocky Mountain).

The Swedish midfielder sustained the injury in the April 17 win over the Kansas City Wizards, and he may not be able to play Saturday in the first of three straight road games for the Rapids.

Rapids coach Glenn "Mooch" Myernick said Limpar definitely would not have played this past Saturday, had the game against Chicago not been postponed. "Anders has not practiced for a long time and if he does not see some improvement in the injury over the next day or so, we will not take him to New England," Myernick said. "This is frustrating for the team and for Anders, because we are playing so well right now and he has been a big reason for that."

The Rapids (2-2) have won two straight games after beginning their season with two shoot-out losses on the road after both games ended in draws after 90 minutes. Colorado faces the Revolution on Saturday, before traveling to face the Dallas Burn (Saturday, May 8) and the Chicago Fire (Sunday, May 16) on the following weekends.
