The game will also showcase a variety of local Mexican talents, including a pre-game final match in the Copa Mexico, sponsored by the Mexican Cultural Center. Twenty-four registered teams in the metro-area will be competing for the championship title, kicking off at 12 noon.
After the game, stay for the "Familia Mora Arriaga," an internationally-renowned Mexican musical group, whose past venues include the White House. The Concert will take place in the south stands parking area, Lot F.
THE INJURY REPORT
Althogh he is not expected to start in Sunday's game, forward Roy Wegerle should see some
time against the Wiz. Felipe Rodriguez (hamstring -- 1 week), Scott Cannon (ankle -- 1 week),
and Brian Bates (knee -- 2 weeks), are still on injured reserve.
WIZ ON HEELS OF BIG WIN
With Scottish forward Mo Johnston on the roster since Tuesday, the Kansas City Wiz are looking
strong. Coming off of Thursday's 6-4 win over the Columbus Crew at Arrowhead Stadium the
highest scoring game in MLS history, Newman's squad boasts a powerful offense.
COMING UP FOR THE RAPIDS
For the Rapids, it's time to play catch-up -- the schedule gets busy next wee. After Sunday's
game against the Wiz, the team travels to San Jose to face the Clash on May 8. Back in Denver
on May 11, the Rapids host Carlos Valderamma and the Tampa Bay Mutiny at Mile High Stadium
at 2 p.m. Watch for that one on ESPN2.
