The Rapids won their third consecutive game and sixth in their last seven to reach the .500 mark (9-9) for the first time since they were 3-3 back on April 25.
Colorado won its sixth consecutive home game, continuing to extend the current team record. On the season, the Rapids are now 8-2 at Mile High Stadium. The Rapids are one home win short of their entire 1997 regular-season total, when the team posted a 9-7 record at home.
Colorado scored first for the seventh consecutive game (six have been wins). On the season, the Rapids are 7-0 when scoring first at home, 8-2 overall when scoring the game's first goal.
Wolde Harris scored his sixth goal of the season, surpassing his entire 1997 goal output of five.
A reminder that the Rapids game against the Columbus Crew originally scheduled for Thursday, July 16, has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 19, at Mile High Stadium.
The Rapids travel to Leon, Mexico, on Wednesday for the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup fixture against Leon of the Mexican first division. The Rapids carry a 1-0 lead from the first leg into the return match, set for this Wednesday, July 15, at 7:15pm MST.
Colorado will be without midfielder Adrian Paz Wednesday, after Paz suffered a pulled right hamstring in the first half of Saturday's win over New England. Rapids trainer Jay Mellette lists Paz as questionable for Sunday's game in Kansas City.
After giving up 31 goals in the first 11 league games (2.82 per game -- 3-8 in that stretch), Colorado has allowed only five goals in the last seven outings (0.71 per game - 6-1 in that stretch).
