Colorado Rapids vs Kansas City Wizards

Kansas City comes to town after losing their Head Coach, Ron Newman on Wednesday, April 14, 1999, when he resigned. Newman was one of two original MLS coaches, and leaves as the winningest head coach in American professional soccer history.

We in Colorado want to thank Ron Newman for the many years of exciting San Diego Soccers indoor games and championships. He certainly earned his status as a member of US Soccer Hall of Fame.

Wizard's #22, Alexi Lalas, scored on an assist from #8, Chris Brown and former Rapids star, Chris Henderson in the 30th minute. The pace on both sides has noticeably increased.

At the end of the 1st half, the score is

KC Wizards 1
Colorado Rapids 0

A hand ball in the Wizards box by Uche Okafor resulted in a Penalty Kick taken by Rapids' Wolde Harris, who scored in the 69th minute.

The score is now 1 - 1.

At the end of regulation time, the score remained tied at 1 - 1.
